How we use information

Who processes information

We use service providers to operate DruzeLink. These include Google Firebase for authentication, database, file storage, server functions, and messaging infrastructure; Expo for app updates and notification delivery; RevenueCat for subscription and purchase entitlement management; Sentry for configured crash and performance monitoring; Mixpanel for configured product analytics; Apple, Google, Facebook (Meta), or Yahoo when you choose their sign-in option; and Apple or Google for store purchases. Each provider processes information needed for its service under its terms and privacy commitments. We require providers acting on our behalf to protect personal data consistently with this policy and applicable law.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process, to respond to an emergency involving danger to a person, to investigate abuse or fraud, or as part of a corporate transaction with appropriate notice and safeguards.

For profile-approval emails, we use SendGrid when email delivery is enabled. SendGrid receives your current account email address, a message confirming that your profile is approved, and a delivery reference. These messages do not include your profile photos, profile answers, or date of birth. Open and click tracking are disabled for these messages.

Automated photo checks

When automated photo checks are enabled, Google Cloud Vision receives the uploaded profile image for face-presence and content-safety screening (SafeSearch). These checks assess whether a face is visible, image quality, and potentially adult, sexual, or violent content. They can approve a photo, reject it, or leave it pending moderator review. We store the decision, reason, face count, and review timing with the photo, and record automated approval or rejection actions.

We do not use these checks for biometric identification or to infer Druze affiliation. Photo approval does not approve membership. Uncertain checks, or an unavailable automated service, leave the photo pending moderator review.

Third-party sign-in

If you choose Google, Apple, Facebook, or Yahoo, we receive the provider identifier and the basic profile information, such as name and email address, that the provider makes available with your permission. We use this information to sign you in and maintain linked sign-in methods. We do not request access to your email messages or contacts. Each sign-in provider also processes the authentication request under its own privacy policy. You can manage linked sign-in methods in the app and manage permissions in your provider account.

What other members can see

New profiles remain hidden from other members while the whole profile is pending review. Approving a photo alone does not make a pending profile visible. Authorized moderators can review profile information and photos to make the admission decision.

Other eligible members can see the public parts of your profile, including your displayed first name, age, approved photos, selected profile answers, city or approximate location, and personal details you have chosen to show. The service returns your calculated age to other members and restricts access to your exact birthday, email address, private visibility choices, precise device location, raw migrated answers, block list, and report history. Public profile fields and like comments are checked for contact details; older profile text containing contact details is withheld from public display.

Friends is optional and uses a separate profile containing your first name, introduction, selected interests, general location, and an approved profile photo when available. Eligible members participating in Friends can see this profile, subject to blocks and relationship restrictions. Your dating answers, exact birthday, seeking preferences, and romantic prompts are not included in the Friends profile.

Community is optional. Eligible members who participate and join a group can read its published posts and replies, which show the author’s first name, contribution text, and posting time. Blocks and account restrictions limit access. The current Community features do not provide member or event-attendee directories.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and profile information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Operational, diagnostic, purchase, and support records are retained only while reasonably needed for their stated purposes, security, accounting, dispute handling, or legal obligations, and may later be deleted or aggregated.

You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or use our web deletion process. Once accepted, deletion restricts your account while background cleanup runs. The app confirms completion after your DruzeLink sign-in record, profile, answers, photos, private settings, matches, conversations, likes, passes, saved profiles, viewing history, Friends profile and invitations, Community posts and replies, group memberships, event RSVPs, and Friends and Community participation records have been removed. Replies attached to your Community posts are also removed; other members’ independent Community content remains. Safety reports filed by or about the account and blocks placed by other members may be retained as restricted safety records. A minimal deletion record is retained to prevent delayed updates from recreating the account. Records held by billing and other service providers follow their applicable retention terms. Store billing must be cancelled separately through Apple or Google.

Safety records: when a member is reported, we keep the report and the evidence reviewed with it, including a copy of the most recent messages of a reported conversation, so moderators can investigate. If a reported member deletes their account, this evidence is kept for up to 90 days, or until the reports are resolved, and is then deleted unless the law requires longer preservation. When an account is banned, we keep one-way fingerprints of its sign-in identities, such as its email address and sign-in provider IDs, even after the account is deleted. These fingerprints cannot be turned back into the original details and are used only to stop a banned person from creating a new account.
